Knicks Making Move For Isiah?

By: Stephen Patterson

Donnie Walsh has apparently completely lost his mind in the aftermath of LeBron James' decision. Walsh told ESPN's Chris Broussard that he would consider Isiah Thomas for the Knicks GM role if he hires someone for the job. This is without a doubt, the worst idea Donnie Walsh has had in his entire life. It's making me wonder if Al Davis hasn't taken over his body.

If owner James Dolan allows this to happen, he will actually be guaranteed the title of "Worst NBA Owner". And if Spike Lee doesn't start a movement to have Dolan sell the team at that point, I'll be stunned. Walsh is trying to bring back the man he's spent his tenure with the Knicks cleaning up after. New York still hasn't even recovered from Thomas' first time with the team, why would any of their fans be welcome to this idea?

Want to know the last person that served as a deputy GM under Walsh? David Kahn. I think this is a clear sign Walsh is losing his mind and possibly his ability to run a team (he didn't exactly leave the Pacers as contenders). Bringing Amare Stoudemire was definitely a move in the right direction, but turning to Isiah Thomas to be the Knicks GM is a horrible plan. Amare will gone from New York in three seasons with him running the team. Even if Walsh doesn't give Thomas any power at all over player personnel and movements, he will find a way to ruin the Knicks roster.

Walsh even sent Thomas to meet with LeBron James to try to convince him to join the Knicks. And there are still New York fans wondering why James isn't going to be playing in Madison Square Garden? I'm not sure there was a worse person from the organization's entire history they could've sent on that visit. Isiah ruined the Knicks on and off the court, and bringing him back would ensure another five seasons of losing.
