It's been a bad week for Igor Olshansky, a former defensive lineman for the Chargers, Cowboys and now, Dolphins.
The Dolphins released Olshansky earlier this week and now, he has been arrested by the police at his home in Broward County, Florida.
According to CBSMiami.com, 280 people were arrested as part of a Broward County operation known as "Operation Cold Turkey". And unfortunately for Olshansky, he was one of the 280 people.
The police report states that Olshansky was arrested at his home and police came in while he was rolling a marijuana cigarette, known to many as a "doobie".
Also, according to the report, Olshansky had in his possession 19 grams of marijuana, which roughly comes out to a little less than three-fourths of an ounce (an ounce is 28 grams).
Olshansky was charged with possession of marijuana.
You got to love how the police arrested Olshansky, among others, for less than an ounce of marijuana, which is a misdemeanor and would likely turn into a year of probation. Instead of busting murderers, rapists, and pedophiles, they decided to bust a former NFL player that will likely not receive any jail time.
In my opinion, this turns out to be a giant waste of taxpayer's money. There are a lot of better things that the police could be doing instead of busting people for meaningless amounts of marijuana.
