The son of former Vikings receiver Cris Carter has announced that he will transfer to Alabama.
Duron Carter plans to enroll at Alabama in June and will be academically eligible to play immediately.
The younger Carter left Ohio State due to academic issues after catching a touchdown pass during his freshman season.
He played at Coffeyville Community College last season in Kansas. At Coffeyville, Carter caught 44 passes for 690 yards and ten touchdowns.
Before choosing Alabama, Carter had narrowed it down to LSU, Miami, Auburn, Oregon, and Alabama.
Carter said in a release, "I want to win a national championship. I believe in what Coach Saban and the players are doing. This is a great program."
The Tide now have a glaring need at receiver after standout receiver Julio Jones announced that he would enter the NFL Draft. Carter is hoping that he can take Jones' place.
