The walking-wounded version of the San Antonio Spurs fell 100-92 to the Portland Trail Blazers tonight, further allowing the Los Angeles Lakers to narrow the gap on the top seed in the West.
The Spurs were playing without all three members of their "Big Three"; Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili both sat out with injuries, while Tony Parker was a late scratch.
The loss was only the fourth for the Spurs at home this season, as they have won 33 out of their 37 games at the AT&T Center.
With their fourth loss in a row overall, San Antonio's lead over the Lakers for first place in the West has shrunken to only three and a half games.
Can the injury-riddled Spurs hold onto the top spot over the scorching-hot Lakers down the stretch?
