The strong-armed quarterback showed last season that he was one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC, maybe even the entire NCAA.
After transferring from Michigan, Mallett went to the south and received the starting nod as the Razorback's starting signal caller.
His first season as a Razorback, 2009, set sixteen school records that season, as he amassed a then-school record 3,627 passing yards, along with 30 touchdowns.
Mallett helped the 'Backs to an 8-5 record, including a win over East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl. He was also named Offensive MVP of the game.
He decided to return to Arkansas in 2010, but if he had entered the draft, he was noted to be a top-five quarterback selection.
It may have turned out well for Mallett as he provided even bigger statistics, including upping his passing yards to 3,869 and throwing 32 touchdowns.
Included in his strong performances was a 21-for-24 game against Tennessee Tech on September 9, 2010. The completion percentage (87.5%) was a Razorbacks record and the second-best in NCAA history. Arkansas won the game, 44-3.
