A Look Back: Derek Fisher's 0.4 Shot That Buried The Spurs

By: Stephen Patterson

This was perhaps one of the biggest moments of Derek Fisher's illustrious career as this famous shot with 0.4 seconds remaining gave the Lakers a 74-73 victory and 3-2 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conferense semifinals in the 2003-04 playoffs.

The teams traded the lead back and forth over the final minute before Fisher took the inbounds pass and basically ended the Spurs season. The Lakers would win the series in six games after falling behind 0-2 to San Antonio.

While Fisher's massive shot may have saved the Lakers in this series, he couldn't do much to save Los Angeles from getting trashed by the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Finals a few weeks later.
