-- The Golden State Warriors have traded Corey Maggette and a second round pick to the Milwaukee Bucks for Charlie Bell and Dan Gadzuric. Even if John Salmons bolts in free agency, the Bucks will have a core of Maggette, Brandon Jennings, Michael Redd, and Andrew Bogut for next season. The addition of Maggette instantly gives them one of the better teams in the East heading into next year. I look for them to take over where Atlanta has been the past few years, somewhere between the 3-5 seed come playoff time.
-- Los Angeles Lakers Center Andrew Bynum had his injured knee drained for a third time today. Bynum is planning to travel to South Africa for the World Cup June 28th and wants to have the surgery upon his return to the US in mid-July. His decision to wait is mainly based on the fact he would like to "do a proper rehab". Despite the injury, Bynum played in all 23 playoff games for the Lakers this postseason.
-- According to sources, the Memphis Grizzlies are discussing a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves involving the 25th and 28th pick for the 16th. This would give Minny 4 first round picks to rebuild with and the Grizzlies would be able to get two solid players in the middle of the round. Assuming the teams agree to the trade, I wouldn't be surprised if Memphis tries to package those two and move up even further or trade for a quality veteran. Both teams made questionable moves in last years draft (Memphis: Thabeet/ Minny: PG cluster) and will certainly look to have better success this season.
