On All-Star weekend in 2000, the landscaping of dunking would forever be changed in the NBA. In one ridiculous night, Vince Carter electrified millions of people watching. He put down some of the craziest dunks in NBA history, in games or dunk contests, and in the process introduced the world to a whole new level of dunks. With the exception of his last dunk, which was a two handed dunk from a couple of feet inside the free throw line, Carter's dunks had largely never been seen before. The elbow hang gave me chills the first time I watched it. That's insane hangtime to get that high in the air, not very many people on the planet could come close to that. I saw this video and it's the first one I've seen with players/coaches/announcers talking about the contest and it has Carter talking about the dunks, so I decided to share it with everyone else.
