Former Chargers Linebacker Lew Bush Dead At 42; Member Of 1994 "Cursed" Team

By: Tyler Ward

Another member of the 1994 San Diego Chargers has died today as former linebacker Lew Bush suffered a heart attack and has perished at age 42. He had his birthday just six days ago, dying way too prematurely.

This team has been known to be "cursed" as Bush is the seventh player from the 1994 squad to die way too young.

Other deaths include:

* DE Shawn Lee (Heart Attack, Age 44; 2011)
* DE Chris Mims (Enlarged Heart, Age 38; 2008)
* OL Curtis Whitley (Drug Overdose, Age 39; 2008)
* LB Doug Miller (Struck by Lightning, Age 28; 1998)
* RB Rodney Culver (Plane Crash, Age 26; 1996)
* LB David Griggs (Car Accident, Age 28; 1995)

...And now Bush. It's so sad that so many good people have died in different ways, all of them so tragic.

The 1994 Chargers team made it to the Super Bowl, becoming the one and only Chargers team to make an appearance in the NFL's biggest game of the season. San Diego would go on to lose to San Francisco, 49-26, as quarterback Steve Young collected Super Bowl MVP honors.

We, here at Sports Guys Universe, extend our condolences to the Bush family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them, as we know they are grieving at this time, along with the other players' families that have had their family members perish prematurely.

Rest in Peace.
