A Look Back: 1993 Sugar Bowl Highlights - Alabama Vs. Miami (Video)

The United States was in store for a great game in 1993, when the No. 2 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide took on the No. 1 ranked Miami Hurricanes.

This was when the Hurricanes were at their peak and it was hard for any team to stop them. But that's when the Crimson Tide reared their heads.

Miami was favored by eight points entering the game and offensive star Lamar Thomas had done a lot of talking prior to the game's start.

That would not bode well for "The U".

Particularly known for one play, Alabama single-handedly won the game, 34-13.

But what's the play I speak of?

George Teague, of course.

At the end of a Gino Torretta pass, the aforementioned Thomas sprinted down the sideline for what looked like an 89-yard touchdown. As he ran down the sideline, defensive star Teague chased him down and stripped the ball.

This play would go down in history as "The Strip".
