Interview With WHS Phenom Bernard "Go Hard" Brown

If you live near the Jacksonville, Florida area, I highly recommend you check out a Wolfson High School football game next season.

While you're there, be sure to keep an eye out for Bernard "Go Hard" Brown, one of the best running backs in the area and someone who could have a future at the next level.

Here are some quick notes and a short interview I conducted with Mr. Brown (also, be sure to check out the highlight videos after the interview):

1. Tell us about the most memorable play that you have been a part of on the field: "There was 4 seconds left on the clock and we needed to score, my quarterback threw the ball up to me and I scored to make it go overtime."

2. Who are your three favorite players in the NFL at any position? And your three favorites at the position you play?
"Chris Johnson, Devin Hester, Ed Reed."

3. What are your goals/expectation for your junior and senior seasons (personal & team)? "My goals are to get better and lead my team to the district and state championships."

4. What are your top three "dream schools" to play college football at? "Florida, Miami (FL), and Virginia Tech."

5. How long have you been playing football? "I have been playing football for 5 years now."

6. What is your favorite conference to watch in college football? Is that the conference you would prefer playing in if you have the option? "I love to watch the SEC/ ACC because I think they are the toughest conferences and have great athletes."

7. From watching some of your highlights, it's clear you have a few tricks up your sleeve when you have the ball in your hands. Is there a certain NFL and/or college player you have modeled some of your moves after over the years? "Yes, Chris Johnson and Jacquizz Rodgers. Before every game, I watch them to see what I need to do and how to hit the holes."
